Frequently Asked Questions

If you are interested in our music- or voice-production services, here are some frequently asked questions that we have summarized for you. If your question is not included, please feel free to contact us via our contact form or by e-mail!

How can I get in touch with the studio?

Please use the contact form on our website for initial contact. Please be as precise as possible in your request and include your correct e-mail address. We will reply to you by e-mail and will be happy to provide you with an individual offer on request.

How much does it cost?

The answer to this question depends significantly on the type and scope of the requested service. Please feel free to contact us as described above for more information.

Do you offer online mixing and mastering?

Yes, you can send us your audio tracks online. We offer online services for both music and voice productions, for editing, mixing, mastering and the restoration or repair of audio material.

In which format should audio files be sent?

Generally in the same format in which the recording was made. Uncompressed audio files (mono / stereo), e.g. in .wav format, with a sample rate of 44.1 kHz or higher and a bit depth of at least 16 bits, are ideal for further processing. A recording made in low resolution cannot be subsequently improved by a higher resolution bounce. Although MP3s can be processed, they do not provide an optimal basis for post-production.

How should the tracks or projects to be processed be prepared?

Entire Pro Tools projects, including the tracks they contain, can be sent for editing. The tracks should be clearly sorted by color (for example by instrument group) and "consolidated to 0" on the grid with the appropriate BPM setting, i.e. synchronized. The same applies to single audio tracks.

What types of mastering do we offer?

We offer stereo, stem and M/S mastering for music productions. The mastering of voice recordings such as audio books and podcasts is also part of our service. In addition to the finishing touches to the sound, the audio material is adapted to the necessary specifications for the planned type of publication (for example Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Audible, Spotify for Podcasters, Apple Podcasts).

Do we use reference tracks for mastering?

Yes, if the mix allows it. A reference track should match the style, instrumentation etc. of your own material.

Do we offer test masters?

After prior consultation and review of your audio material, we can create a test master for you. This will not be created over the full length of the material sent to us - but will be faded out beforehand. If you like the sample, we would be delighted if you would place an order for the mastering.

What is the maximum resolution we can handle?

We can process audio files with a maximum of 192 kHz / 32-bit floating point.

Do we compose / arrange / orchestrate music to order?

No, but we may be able to provide you with suitable addresses in individual cases. Please contact us directly by e-mail.

Is it possible to record with several instruments at the same time in the studio?

Yes, if you want to record drums and bass together, for example, this is possible. In this case, the drums would be recorded in the recording room and the bass via D.I. or Kemper-Amp in the control room.

What benefits does my voiceover training offer in the context of voice productions?

Thanks to my training as a voice-over artist and dubbing actor, I am able to grasp texts very quickly in terms of their nature, content and intended message as well as the correct response and to apply my knowledge to voice recordings with voice-over artists on request. Depending on the desired or required extent of this activity, it makes sense to carry out such a preparation of the text in advance of the actual recording.

Do we offer mobile recordings?

For podcast recordings with a maximum of four participants present, we also offer mobile recordings on location under certain conditions in addition to studio recordings. People connected by telephone or video call can also be recorded. Please send us an inquiry using the contact form.

Does the audio repair / restoration also apply to old devices?

No, only on audio recordings that are in file form (preferably .wav-format) - i.e. digital.

Why have so many devices in the studio when there are plug-ins?
